Technology Development
Since 1964, MPR has built an impressive legacy through the invention of new technologies and products. We are often approached with simply an idea and have the ability to create new technologies and processes that may be applied across a variety of clinical applications and industries. After a core technology is developed, our engineers and scientists characterize the technology according to the target application. As with each product we design, all intellectual property developed during the course of the project is transferred to the client.
Conceptualization
Our unique approach to innovation empowers MPR team members to achieve breakthrough solutions that can only arise from the strategic coalescence of varied disciplines and experiences. Each member of our technical staff is cross-trained in a variety of technical areas, making transitions between design activities seamless and enabling relatively small, cost-effective project teams to achieve rapid results. Using effective brainstorming methods and cost and benefit analyses, we are able to quickly provide conceptual designs that meet all defined requirements.
Engineering
With approximately 200 engineers and scientists on staff, we have the technical horsepower required to develop first-of-a-kind devices that change the landscape of health care and life sciences industries. Our service offerings include requirement and specification development, proof-of-concept development and rapid system prototyping, and clinical build production, allowing our clients to perform clinical trials within 9 months. Our ISO–13485 compliant system provides our clients with the required design controls to develop a new device, and we regularly manage the design history file – saving our clients additional time and resource requirements.
Design for Manufacturing
Design for manufacturing and reliability are built into our product development process, and these are areas of focus beginning with our first phase of development. With our client, we identify the manufacturer early and work with them to develop a reliable device, optimized for manufacturing. Building this relationship with the manufacturer from the start also provides for a seamless technology transfer downstream, resulting in our clients’ products reaching the market faster.
